Customer Reviews & Ratings
It was great honestly. My first time trying and I texted them my order and it was ready for me when I picked it up. Food was fresh and the salad was amazing. Had left overs and the chicken was juicy.
Great prices great food. Fast service. I like their growth over the years. Going from food truck to a building.
Run don't walk if you're looking for some of the best Asian food in all of Charlotte. Located next to the CLT airport. This is a one stop shop for some of the best Asian cuisine you can find. Short on cash? Don't worry as most plates don't cost over $12 and they have smaller size options for anyone who wants to order 2-3 plates. I never leave without a smile on a face. All the guys/gals here are friendly and know their food. It's one of those places you'll find yourself going to 2-3 times a week. My favorites include the grounded chicken over rice and any of their noodle soups
Authentic Laos cuisine in Charlotte! I was floored when I searched on Yelp for Thai cuisine and found this taste of Laos instead. My first visit here was at lunchtime during the workday. The exterior is clean, as well as the interior. The ambiance is equivalent to that of a fast-food restaurant. The food is elevated. When I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the cashier. I informed her that it was my first visit, and she was super polite, explaining the menu and giving her recommendations. I ultimately ordered a broth-based soup that equates to a pho with thicker rice noodles. The broth was flavorful, and the thicker noodles absorb that flavor nicely. The meatballs had a great texture and flavor as well, and the temperature of the dish was piping hot. My nose was a bit congested, and my stomach was a bit unsettled on this particular day, and this helped. For dessert, I had a dish that had sweetcorn, purple, sweet potato, and tapioca pearls in a sweetened coconut cream that was divine. It was the perfect end to a great experience. I've eaten here a few times since and enjoyed absolutely every dish, including the phenomenal chicken skewers. Anything you get here is a guaranteed home run.
Their store was interesting since they bought what used to be probably a Hardees. I only got their chicken and sausage with rice and i regretted not getting more of their food. I also got one of their sodas the green apple flavored which went well with my food. I plan to try them again when I'm visiting this area and maybe try their papaya salad or wings. George the croc said chomp chomp out of 3 chomps!
Went to the new restaurant, since they changed for the first time. I got to say their Food is still great. I ordered the Lao Sausages, Chicken Wing, and Pad See Ew. They are all tastes excellent. Especially the Pad See Ew is not too salty, just perfect. The new location is great instead of the food truck, now it has a place for you to sit down to eat.it was clean. The staff was friendly like before. The food value is great, you got a lot for its price. The only thing that is stopping me for 5 stars is the amount of time that I have to wait for the food. I waited almost 45 minutes to get three dishes. They are operating like food truck, which usually takes a long time for orders. But I have faith this will change over time. Also I don't mind waiting for good food.
OMG. I am SO sorry for not leaving this review sooner. JP Food To Go is one of my absolute favorite places to get food in Charlotte. However, I can only vouch for the following three items: 1) their chicken on a stick combo, 2) their fried egg rolls, and 3) their Thai iced tea. If you order any or all of those items, you will be in absolute heaven. The chicken is so crispy, juicy, and flavorful. And it comes with perfectly cooked sticky rice and the most addicting green sauce ever. When you order fried egg rolls, you get EIGHT, and they are massive! They come with this sweet, delicious sauce that's like the cousin of duck sauce. Lastly, their Thai iced tea is just fantastic! I think a part of me subconsciously didn't write this review sooner because I didn't want my favorite spot to get too busy and run out of food. At the same time, it would be wrong of me not show this place love and support because they deserve it. NOTE: This is not a restaurant, but a permanently affixed food truck. It's location does not change. You can only order takeout, but that's why their prices are SO GOOD. Yay!!!
Delicious and tasty Laos food for cheap! Every dish was less than $7. We were able to get four meals that were so filling! Next time, I will not get the papaya salad at a spicy level. I took one bite and tears formed in both eyes. It was so spicy. I had to wash it down with lots of water and the cabbage was so refreshing, it helped! Overall, the flavor was great but I will try a mild/medium next time. The egg rolls were great- not my favorite since I love the ones with taro in them. But they were piping hot and freshly made. I loved the flavor of the chicken wings and the sticky rice. It came with a green spicy sauce that paired so well with the rice. It was also fairly spicy but not terrible. The pad that was very good. It was full of meat and flavor. I would give this a 4/5 but would definitely try it again
Holy grail of Laos food. This is a good truck located next to a small, hole in the wall Asian market near the airport. I find that texting for their daily specials is easy. And texting my order for pick up so it's ready for me upon arrival is even better. I've searched high and low for authentic Laos style papaya salad ever since living in Charlotte. My only regret is not trying this place earlier. The Lao style papaya salad is full of padek. It's funky, flavorful, balanced extremely well with all flavors. And the spicy is spicy. I mean I was sucking in air, my lips were on fire. This is not your typical #5 spicy. I eat spicy all the time and crave for spice when eating out. No one will do it like this place. Do not order the spicy if you're not accustomed to eating fire alarm hot food. The Lao sausage and sticky rice is perfect to eat with the papaya salad too. The sausage are slightly sweet and sticky. I always get the chicken larb when they have it too. It's bright and herbaceous while being earthy at the same time. And get this - the food is affordable. It's so hard to not keep ordering because you're just like damn, I can get everything. Lol. Maybe that's just the foodie in me. All I know is that after writing this review, I will be visiting this place today once they open. It's a perfect local spot that does everything right.
